Underworld was inspired by a collection of photographs perfumer and photographer Christèle Jacquemin took studying the paths taken by the shadows until they reach the light.
Underworld is a scent edged in subtle smoke. Its aromas arrive gently smouldering, as if recently passed through fire. Its effect is particularly novel with the carrot seed essential oil and patchouli used in the scent because it’s so different to the usual loamy, earthen landscapes these smells are usually presented in in a fragrance.
Jacquemin’s fragrances are some of the most original pieces we’ve experienced in some time, and, given the number of perfumes we smell, that is really saying something. This is the work of a curious mind and fearless olfactory artist.
